MPL 1.com, Windows XP? Oh Yea! |
|
Why Windows XP It’s Here! Microsoft’s next Windows GUI (Graphic User Interface/yes..really an operating system). Originally I said “After some research on Windows XP, I’m not sure you should run out and purchase the first copy that you find. Although Windows XP will be the brightest star in the Microsoft arsenal it will require some real tweaking and patience to install on your existing PC. Why? Because Windows XP is built on the NT/Win2000 Engine”. I was wrong, Windows XP Professional is Awsome! Yes, you should buy it, yes I can prove it, and no I don’t get any kickbacks from Bill Gates. The days of Win95, 98 and Me are over. Microsoft has all but abandoned Windows3 and 3.11 and is well on its way to disavowing any connection to Windows95. Windows98 and Me will follow the trail to software heaven. It is true that one of the major draw backs to Windows XP is compatibility with legacy (old),hardware. Windows XP makes up for it with stability. Read my lips, “NO MORE B.S.O.D.(Blue screen of death), If a program crashes, XP lets you close that program and gone on with your business. This alone makes XP worth the money. Microsoft created two versions, there is an XP Home and an Professional XP version. As usual, if you want all the bells-and-whistles, you will need to purchase the Office XP. I’m not sure who decided to add what features to which version but here is a hint as to what is happening. Win98 and Me both have the capability of dual monitor support. Windows XP Pro also has this support but the Home version does not. Windows XP will be in your PC someday, Microsoft suggests that you buy a new PC that has been tested with XP to save you and them headaches. Remember, should you decide to upgrade to XP, make sure you have at least a Pentium III, 128 Mb of RAM and lots of time on your hands to find the compatible drivers that you will need to install for your existing hardware. |
